Blackjack is one of the most popular casino games because of the low house edge.
On DoppelWetten we have the perfect blackjack strategy.
Due to the low house edge, Blackjack is one of the least profitable games for the casino, which of course makes it a very interesting game for Matched Bettors and a popular choice for completing bonuses that have a wagering requirement.
If you use the perfect blackjack strategy the house edge is around 0,5% and the RTP percentage is around 99,5% (return to player). This means that we expect to lose around €0,50 for every €100 staked. In comparison, the average slot machine RTP is around 95%.
Some basic Blackjack rules
Blackjack is a relative simple game.
The aim is to beat the dealer by getting as close to 21 as possible.
When the game starts you will receive two cards while the dealer receives one. All cards are face up so everyone can see all cards.
Aces can either count as 1 or 11; the cards 2 to 9 count according to their nominal value, and tens and face cards count as 10.
It is now up to you to choose if you would like to either receive additional cards or to stand. To stand means to not receive more cards.
Once you have chosen to stand i.e. not receive more cards, it is the dealers turn.
If you get an Ace and any card counting as 10, you will have Blackjack and you win back x2,5 of your stake unless the dealer also has Blackjack. In this case you will get your stake back.
If you go bust i.e. get over 21 then you will have lost the hand. You will also lose your stake if the dealer gets a higher hand than yours without going over 21. If you and the dealer have the same value hand, it is a push (draw) and you will get your stake back.
A hard hand is where you have no Aces, or your Ace is forced to count as 1 (as you would otherwise go over 21) e.g. an Ace, 5 and 7. This is always 13 because you would have over 21 (if the Ace counted as 11, you would have 23).
A soft hand is where you have an Ace which can count as either 1 or 11 e.g. an Ace and a 4. This could either count as 5 or 15.
Once the cards have been dealt you normally have four options for the next move.
1Stand: You choose not the receive more cards and your turn will end
2Hit: You will receive one more card. You can keep hitting until you go bust i.e. get over 21
3Double: You double your stake and get dealt only one more card
4Split: If you are dealt a pair you can choose to split the cards. This includes cards with a value of ten e.g. you can split a king and a queen. You double your stake as you now have two hands. Each hand will receive a second card
If the dealer’s first card is an ace, you may be asked if you want insurance. It is not recommended to take insurance as it is mathematically better to not take insurance.

The perfect blackjack strategy
Please remember that using the perfect Blackjack strategy does not mean that playing Blackjack is risk-free. Using the strategy only increases your chances of minimising your loss.
You use the strategy by cross-referencing your hand and the dealer’s hand and then follow the recommended next move.
You can find the blackjack guide at the bottom of this guide.
A quick tip
It is much faster to follow the perfect blackjack strategy if you print it rather than viewing it on the website. That also means you don’t have to constantly switch between two sites while you are playing.
