The „Bet €x and get a €x free live bet“ is a variation of the „Bet €x and get a €x free bet“ offer.
The only difference is that the free bet will have to be placed in-play, which means while the game is on.
For many offers the free bet is for a specific game so make sure to check which game in the T&Cs. The offer still only requires two steps.
Step 1: Place the qualifying bet; and
Step 2: Place the free live bet, while the game is being played.
Unfortunately, you cannot use the Oddsmatcher to find the best odds for the live bet.
So, some manual work is required but the DoppelWetten Matched Betting Calculator will do all the calculations for you.
My recommendation is to do this kind of offer even if you only make a few €. The small amounts quickly add up and this is the way to make money with Matched Betting.
Here are a few guidelines on how much you should expect to lose from a qualifying bet and how much you can expect to earn from a free bet (also see my guide on "Why do I not make €10 when I have a €10 free bet?").
Qualifying bet
You should expect to lose around 5-7%; or €0,50 to €0,70, per €10 staked.
Free bet
You should expect to make between 70% and 80% of the value of the free bet. With a €10 free bet you should therefore expect to make between €7 and €8.
Remember the above are just rough guidelines and you shouldn’t worry too much if your qualifying loss is a bit higher or profit a bit smaller. All that matters is that you make a profit.
Step by step guide to making money from free live bets
Step 1 – Place the qualifying bet
First, we must qualify for the free bet. Check the T&Cs of the offer to find the qualifying requirement.
There are numerous variations of qualifying bets. Below I list some of the more common ones.
Bet a specific amount e.g. €10
Bet a certain amount on a certain game e.g. bet €10 on the game between Arsenal and Manchester United
Another variation is where you have to bet a certain amount on a specific football league e.g. bet €10 on the Premier League.
Once you know what kind of qualifying bet you need to place to get the free bet, then you go to the Oddsmatcher to find the best game to place your Matched Bet on.
Step 2 – Place the free live bet
Most often you will not get your free bet until the game has started, although this is different from bookmaker to bookmaker.
It is recommended that you place your free live bet during halftime as the odds will not change so fast, which will give you more time to do the calculation. Also, you don’t run the risk of one team scoring while you are placing your bets.
The best and fastest way to place your free live bet is to open 3 tabs in your internet browser. One tab is for the bookmaker, one for your betting exchange and one for the DoppelWetten Calculator.

Below is an explanation of each line.
Free Bet (SNR). 99% of the time the free bet will be a Stake Not Returned free bet, which means you will not get the stake back from the free bet.
Simple/Advanced: there are two kinds of calculators. I recommend using the simple mode unless you are familiar with underlaying and overlaying
Odds: the bookmaker odds
Commission (%): if the bookmaker charges the German betting tax you can enter it here
Odds: the betting exchange odds
Commission (%): the commission charged by the betting exchange
You can do the calculation faster if you already choose free bet under bet type and add in the lay commission and back commission (if the bookmaker charges the 5% German betting tax) before the game starts.
Then you just need to add the actual odds once the game is live.
Once the game has started you can look for odds over 4,00 and switch between the bookmaker and betting exchange to compare odds. The best markets are the match odds, over/under goals and occasionally the correct score.
Once you have found a close match, enter the odds into the calculator. Remember to make changes if the odds change.
Enter the stake with the bookmaker and the betting exchange.
Place the bets
Place the bookmaker bet first. It normally takes a few seconds until your bet is confirmed.
Once the bookmaker bet has been confirmed, place the betting exchange bet. Again recalculate if the odds have changed.
